Headshot rates & info

Making sure you look and feel your best for your portrait session is important and should be fun, not stressful. This advanced planning is key to a successful professional image and will help you really shine.

Headshot Basics

I know that getting in front of the camera is not easy, and I specialize in taking the stress out of headshots and making them fun. With over 25 years of experience, I know what works well: from outfits to backgrounds to posing, I will advise you on what to wear and how to prepare. I’ve got you covered.

Individual headshots can take place in my studio on Capitol Hill, outdoors nearby, at your home, office, or another location. Sessions usually take about 45 minutes.

Headshots for your team usually take place at your place of business, but let’s chat to see what makes the most sense for your needs.

A private, online gallery with your proofs is generally ready for review within a week of your shoot. Once you make your selections, images are retouched, corrected, and ready for primetime within 7–10 business days.

The fine print

Every shoot is different and every client is different. I like to tailor sessions and estimates to each clients’ needs. Many shoots require a photo assistant. Costs depend on project scope; we’ll provide you with an estimate based on your needs.

A 50% deposit is required to reserve your shoot date.

We love to help advise on what to wear and how to prepare.

Professional makeup artists can help your team get camera ready. We’d be happy to refer you to our favorites.

A private, online gallery with your proofs is generally ready for review within a week of your shoot. Once your team makes its selections, images are retouched, corrected, and ready for primetime within 7–10 business days. If you have a deadline, please let us know, and we will do our best to meet your needs. Rush fees may apply.

For outdoor sessions, morning or evening times work best. Remember that scheduling an early morning appointment if you’re not a morning person won’t lend itself to capturing your best you. I recommend scheduling your portraits during a relatively quiet few days, not the day after returning from a trip or around a big deadline.

Above all:  be yourself and wear what you love.
